Elder Aaron Jolley

 November 27, 2020 Left the Preston, England MTC and drove to London to catch a flight to Warsaw, Poland!!  First assignment is in Bialystok with trainers  Starszy Jensen and Starszy Christensen.  with President and Sister Chandler

First week done in quarantine one more to go. Everyday we get to meet with the mission president and some of the missionaries in Poland right now just learning about how everything works there. Yesterday one of my roommates caught i tiny fish in the pond outside and we brought it up to our room in a bottle as a pet but sadly it got knocked out of the window so rip to gill. I also saw elder Cardwell so that was sick I just watched the message of hope that President Nelson shared and it was awesome so everyone should watch it!

  We are here in England in quarantine. We are stuck in this mtc room with 6 other elders and we get to leave to go to the bathroom and outside for 30 min twice so its kinda tuff but we play pickleball in the room and we made a card deck or flash cards so that aint bad. We should be in Poland in a couple of weeks hopefully. This is going to be a really short email but I know I am very blessed to be in the position I am right now and I am very grateful for that. And I am super grateful for the time I had in Scappoose and my trainer Elder Stanley and the rest of the apartment Elder Kopf and Elder Peterson and the rest of the scappellens district.   This week I got my first real taste of Northwest weather. It rained almost all the days of the week and it was super foggy which is kinda cool. I went on exchanges this week so one day I was with Elder James who is almost done with his mission he is from Kentucky and he is very cool but we visited a giant statue of winnie the pooh in St Helen's so there is a picture of that.  One scripture my companion showed me that I really love is Joshua 1:9 Elder Stanley my companion is really knowledgeable about the scriptures and its so cool but the verse says, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." Elder Jolley

   This week we did some service. We helped a scout troop clean up someone's yard who is not able to do it themselves. One whole side of the house was covered in blackberry bushes and those things are mean. They are covered in thorns and stick to anything. In the backyard there was a section fenced off that was so covered in black berry bushes that we couldn't see that it was actually a concrete patio thing.    There are some good members in scappoose this last weekend we were fed some really good meals. One family fed us smoked brisket and some chicken wings. And another family fed us some good steaks. Both families gave us some candy for halloween so that was awesome. The member that fed us steaks has three dogs who are very excited when someone new comes so that was really fun.
